Catholic Charities of Los Angeles
Mission Statement
Catholic Charities is committed to manifesting Christ's spirit through collaboration with diverse communities, by providing services to the poor and vulnerable, by promoting human dignity, and by advocating for social justice.
Introduction
Since 1919, Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. has served as the human services arm of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and has been one of the largest social service providers in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. In more than 50 offices and community centers, the agency rendered 1,286,000 services to 242,000 different individuals during the past year (July 1, 2003-June 30, 2004).
Clients come to Catholic Charities for emergency food and shelter, low-cost before-and-after-school childcare, immigration and refugee assistance, psychological services, computer and jobs skills training, and other supportive services. Poverty doesn't discriminate. How could Catholic Charities? All services are available regardless of a client's race, ethnicity, income, gender or religious belief.
